DANDRIDGE The Maury Middle football team used a strong defensive effort Tuesday night to overcome three fumbles and pick up its first win of the season, a 12-0 decision over visiting East Ridge.
“Defensively, we challenged the players all week and they really responded,” said Maury head coach Jerry Branch.
“If we can just get the offense and defense to play well on the same night, we will be an exciting team to watch.”
