Founded in 1928, The Standard Banner has been owned and operated by the Tom Gentry family since 1956. Today this award-winning community newspaper is published each Tuesday and Thursday.

The Plus is a companion product that is mailed each Tuesday to approximately 3,800 homes in neighboring Grainger County.

The Standard Banner's headquarters is in Jefferson City, home of Carson-Newman College. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. County seat for Jefferson County is Dandridge, Tennessee.

News items, photos and announcements about events and people in Jefferson County are welcome. Material submitted for publication that does not specifically pertain to Jefferson County, Tennessee, is not encouraged.
