Broadband grants

The Appalachian Electric Cooperative (AEC) was awarded two grants from the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development on Friday. It will be used to expand broadband into the New Market and Piedmont areas. AEC received $1,739,581. An additional grant of $500,000 for the broadband expansion is from the Appalachian Regional Commission. The grants are designed to help rural Tennesseans have high speed internet access.
