Four of the five candidates running for two open School Board seats in District 2 have serious questions about the Board’s plan to build two new elementary schools.

Incumbent Maurice Solomon, who is seeking a new term, voted in favor of the construction plan, which would replace both Jefferson and Piedmont elementary schools. Incumbent Denise Fair, also seeking a new term, voted against it and later opposed it in comments to County Commission.
