Dr. Charles Fowler is C-N's new president

Dr. Charles A. Fowler, pastor of Germantown Baptist Church and formerly a longtime administrator at Union University, has been selected as the 23rd president of Carson-Newman University.

He was presented publicly during a news conference yesterday afternoon following an introduction to faculty and staff. The institution's Presidential Search Committee recommended Dr. Fowler to trustees on Friday. He was endorsed with a unanimous vote and will begin duties July 1.
