A $426,000 Department of Justice COPS grant will allow the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department to add a total of four officers to their two busiest shifts.

The Community Oriented Policing Services “Cops Hiring Program” award was announced earlier this month by U.S. Attorney Douglas Overbey’s Eastern District of Tennessee Office.
