Farm animals, agricultural items, pageants, crafts, baked goods, demolition derbies, and carnival rides ... they’ll all be part of the 76th Annual Jefferson County Fair – opening today and running through Saturday, August 17.

“We don’t want the fair to be viewed as just carnival rides. There is something interesting for each and every person in the community,” said Fair President Sam Thompson, who started his love affair with the fair as a food vendor 26 years ago.
