Dandridge Council is asking its planning commission to take a look at a moonshine distiller’s proposal for annexation of the 15-acre Douglas Lake property where he plans a tourist attraction.

Jefferson County native Darrell Miller has plans to move and expand his Bootlegger’s Distillery, currently in Hartford, to his property at 522 Highway 139. County zoning ordinances currently allow the use, but annexation by the Town would provide sewer, which would facilitate some aspects of the development, he told Council during its regular session Tuesday.
