Democratic Party awards scholarships

Two $500 “Dining with Democrats Scholarships” were awarded to Jefferson County High School graduating seniors Lakin Breeden and Rebekah Garber this week. Randall Crossing, Chairman of the Jefferson County Democratic Party, presents checks to Breeden and Garber, as Democratic Party member Fran Potter looks on.  Breeden plans to attend the University of Tennessee Knoxville, while Garber will attend Tennessee Tech University. To earn the award, the candidates had to write an essay on changes they want to see in the world. – STEVEN LLOYD | THE STANDARD BANNER
