Dandridge Council took the first step Tuesday toward annexing a 15-acre Douglas Lake property where a moonshine distiller plans a tourist attraction.

Meeting in regular session, the group approved a plan of services for the property and gave initial approval to B-4 (commercial resort district) zoning. Council will vote September 10 on the annexation itself, which will also be discussed at a public hearing.
