Homecoming parade

Floats, flags, music, dressed up characters – and of course, candy – were all part of Carson-Newman University’s annual homecoming parade Saturday on the streets around campus. Alumni, fans and friends lined the street to take in the parade, which preceeded the football homecoming game, won by the Eagles over Catawba, 24-21. AnnaLauren Kelly, a senior vocal performance major from Rockwood, and Maddie Harding, a Hixson junior majoring in church music, remember the 1960s as part of the Delta Omicron Music Fraternity’s Alpha Gamma chapter display. – MARK BROWN | THE STANDARD BANNER
