Jefferson City Council is considering a nine percent property tax increase and a $575,000 dip into fund reserve to balance the proposed 2019-20 budget.

The group gave first reading approval to a $12.3 million spending plan during their regular session Monday, with a final reading scheduled for June 18. Council members went over the budget in detail during a work session last Wednesday.
