The most recent sales tax income figures — for March business — show an increase of nearly nine percent above last year for local cities and the county.

“This represents two weeks of normal business and two weeks of panic-buying,” said County Finance Director Langdon Potts. “It’s the later reports we’ll really be watching closely.”
