Employees of Jefferson City’s Oshkosh truck manufacturing plant took time over the last several weeks to raise almost $2,300 for area families and individuals in need. The local plant was one of 15 groups across the corporation to take part in the fundraiser.

The effort, called “The Hunger Games,” pitted teams consisting of different lines within the Jefferson City plant against one another. The Sidewalls/Subframes team generated $492.50 through donations, thereby winning the right to select members of management and give them pies to their faces. Along with cash contributions, Jefferson City employees donated some 1,400 pounds of staples, including cans of tuna and chicken, peanut butter and macaroni and cheese, among other items.
