JEFFERSON CITY - After several years of being long overdue, the Old Andrew Johnson Highway railroad overpass is, oddly enough, ahead of schedule, according to project manager Ryan Henley of Vaughn and Melton.

During Tuesday evening’s work session, Henley told City Council, “They’ve completely demolished the old bridge, as of yesterday; the east pier was the final piece. They’ve also poured the west abutment and they are currently filling material on the east side to start that abutment next.”
