Jefferson City’s public works director is charged with cocaine possession after police allegedly found him in possession of the illegal drug at his office earlier this month.

Michael Lewis Jones, 61, of 279 Sequoyah Trail, Rutledge, was booked November 16 on a citation charging him with simple possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia possession. The citation was issued November 12 after a search of his office and vehicle on the grounds of the public works department at 1032 Highway 92.
