New Market Volunteer Fire Chief Frank Solomon was placed on unsupervised probation last week after entering Alford or “best interest” pleas to two counts of misdemeanor theft, Circuit Court records show.

Prosecutors dropped felony charges of official misconduct and sales tax fraud that had been placed against him as the result of an April 2017 indictment that followed a Tennessee State Comptroller’s investigation. One of the misdemeanor theft charges was also reduced from felony theft.
