A Talbott first grade teacher was suspended without pay for three days and will be transferred to another school as the result of an incident in her classroom last Friday, Director of Schools Dr. Shane Johnston reported yesterday.

According to a letter to Donnalyn Taylor released by Johnston, the teacher became “impatient with a student and pushed a chair across the classroom.” The chair broke, but no piece of the chair struck a child, despite an initial report to the contrary, the director states in the letter.
