While White Pine is putting final touches on plans for Pinefest to be held on Saturday, September 14, council heard Tuesday night about the first balloon festival coming to White Pine on October 26 and 27.

Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce Tourism Director Lauren Hurdle shared information at the regular September meeting on the Lakeside of the Smokies Balloon Festival — the largest hot air balloon festival in Tennessee — expected to draw close to 20,000 visitors in two days.
