The Standard Banner's Special Issues

Published each February, our annual guide provides readers with information about Jefferson County for the entire year. The advertising deadline is in late December. This is our biggest, most popular special issue of the year and has a national audience as well as our local readers. This comprehensive guide to living in Jefferson County is inserted in The Standard Banner, then made available in businesses, lodging facilities, restaurants, public offices and other locations throughout the year. The Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce also mails it to anyone across the USA who asks for information about Jefferson County.

What a way to start your spring promotions! This is the ONLY guide that provides details about the area's spring athletics. Your ad will be showcased among coverage of high school sports that include baseball, softball, soccer, and track and field. Carson-Newman athletics is also include. Even more: Area families enjoy reading about middle school golf. Local athletes train hard and play hard. We bring them to the forefront in Spring Sports Guide. Published in mid-March.

Just two days before the graduation ceremony for Jefferson County High School, we publish a distinguished booklet that features the portrait of each member of the graduating class.

Our salute includes features on top graduates and other items of interest to graduates and their families. Families want multiple copies of Salute to Graduates to send to friends and relatives. It becomes a permanent family keepsake.

Businesses add their own words of congratulations in their ads. Youth oriented and education-based products are extremely effective in Salute to Graduates. Many business that employ students run ads featuring portraits of their employees who are graduating.

Advertising deadline for Salute to Graduates is in mid- to late-April.

The Standard Banner's Student Honors special issue spotlights the great things that go on in the classrooms here in Jefferson County. You'll want to be part of this special recognition that's filled with photos of the top students in local elementary, middle and high schools. Take note: If your company is involved in school awards and recognitions, this is your opportunity for an additional emphasis on what you do in the schools. Student Honors is published in mid-June, with an ad deadline around the first week of June.

Pigskin Preview & Fall Sports Round-up

Don't miss this one! Football is THE sport in Jefferson County and The Standard Banner goes all-out to help local fans get the information they want. But this special section has even more than great football coverage. Also featured are high school fall sports, including cross country, golf, girls soccer and girls volleyball.

Readers will enjoy great coverage of Jefferson County Patriots and Carson-Newman College football that includes schedules, player rosters, photographs and more. We also publish the schedules for the middle school programs--a big part of our community. With our center spread full-color team photo of the Patriots, Pigskin Preview & Fall Sports Round-up is kept by families, fans and high school students as a permanent record of the season.
