PUBLIC NOTICE

Notice is hereby given to all residents of Jefferson County, Tennessee and to all persons interested, that the regular meeting of the Jefferson County Highway Commission will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at 7:00 PM, at its office in the courthouse in Dandridge.

This notice is given pursuant to the provisions of section 8-4401 to 8-4406, inclusive, Tennessee Code Annotated.

INVITATION TO BID

The Jefferson County Purchasing Department will be accepting sealed bids for Three (3) USED SCHOOL BUSES for the Jefferson County Board of Education.

Buses must be 2016 or newer, maximum of 40,000 miles, Cummins 6.7 engine or equivalent, 72 passenger with automatic transmission.

Sealed bids should be labeled “USED BUSES” and either mailed to the Jefferson County Finance Department to the attention of Finance Director Langdon Potts, at P.O. Box 1749, Dandridge, TN 37725, or dropped off at 1244 Gay St., Dandridge, TN 37725.  Bids will be accepted until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at which time bids will be opened in the Finance Department conference room. Oral, email, and telephone bids will not be accepted.

Jefferson County reserves the right to ACCEPT OR REJECT any and all bids and to WAIVE ANY AND ALL IRREGULARITIES IN THE RECEIPT/HANDLING OF BIDS. THE AWARDED BIDDER MUST BE IN GOOD STANDING WITH THE COUNTY OF JEFFERSON.

TAKE NOTICE that a pleading seeking relief against you has been filed in the above-entitled action.  The nature of the relief being sought is as follows:

ADJUDICATION OF NEGLECT, AND/OR DEPENDENCY

FOLLOWED BY A DISPOSITION CONSIDERING THE NEEDS OF THE JUVENILES WITH ENTRY OF AN ORDER DESIGNED TO MEET THOSE NEEDS AND THE OBJECTIVES OF THE STATE

Filed June 7, 2019, and amended June 24, 2019, in the District Court in Swain County, North Carolina.

TO: JAMES GREENLEE

You are required to make a defense to such pleadings no later than 45 days from the date of first publication of this notice (July 30th, 2019) and upon your failure to do so, the Petitioner, the Swain County Department of Social Services, seeking service against you, will apply to the Court for the relief sought.

If you are indigent you are entitled to appointed counsel. Counsel may be appointed to you by the Court at the first hearing after service.  You should contact the Swain County Clerk of Court at 828-488-7400 for information regarding how to request and apply for counsel.  

A dispositional order or a subsequent order may require certain actions of you or may terminate your parental rights.  

Upon service, failure to comply with any order of the Court may cause the Court to issue a show cause order for contempt.
