JEFFERSON CITY - Carson-Newman completed a weekend sweep of West Liberty State Sunday, taking 8-2 and 5-2 victories at the Silver Diamond Baseball Complex to improve to 7-0 on the season.

“We got the lead and it comes down to pitching and defense,” Carson-Newman coach Tom Griffin said after Sunday’s sweep. “We have been playing really good defense. I thought Chris Caldwell was really good behind the dish. Guys that were on the mound did what they were supposed to do.”
