Preseason preparations for the 2019 football season are ramping up on the newly-installed turf at Jefferson County High School.

About 90 athletes are lifting weights in the morning and practicing in the evenings at JCHS. This week is the TSSAA-mandated “acclimation period,” designed to help players get used to the heat of late summer before they don full pads. But ironically, the weather has turned cooler.
