DANDRIDGE - After fumbling the lead with eight minutes left in the fourth quarter, Jefferson County rallied behind senior quarterback Tanner Atkins Thursday night to defeat Morristown West, 28-20 – breaking an 11-game losing streak to one of their biggest rivals. The Patriots improved to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in Region 1 6-A play.

Despite building a 20-6 lead heading into the fourth quarter, the Jefferson County offense stalled, giving the Trojans an opportunity to catch up. West capitalized on a good kick-off return to score early in the fourth, and then forced a fumble in the Patriot endzone and secured it to tie the game.
