After a nearly five-hour double-elimination battle to reach state, the South Jefferson senior softball all-stars fell short to Morristown, losing 7-3 and 7-4 in back-to-back games on Saturday at the Field of Dreams in Dandridge.

Despite their losses, South Jefferson was never out of the fight. After trailing in the early innings, the All-Stars rallied in both games to tie the score – thanks to Shaylee Pappas’ home run in the first game and double in the second. Unfortunately, South Jefferson simply could not match Morristown’s heavy-hitting offense. But the all-stars showed great determination and poise throughout both games, playing as a unified team after a season of competing against one another.
