Seeking a first trip back to the national playoffs since the 2015 season, the Carson-Newman Eagle football team begins their 2019 chapter on a Thursday night under the lights against West Florida at Burke-Tarr Stadium.

The 7 p.m. kickoff on September 5 will be a rematch of last year’s season-opener when the Argos got the better of the Eagles 19-9 in Pensacola, Florida. Carson-Newman fell into a quick 6-0 hole before scoring nine points to head into the half with a field goal lead.
