Back-flipping into summer

Summer time is here, schools are out, and time to swim. Jefferson City’s Outdoor Pool (JCOP) was full of kids and adults wading, back stroking, and diving on Memorial Day. Though the weather was cool, this did not stop locals from taking a dip. The JCOP will be open every day provided the weather does not turn foul or summer swim meets are scheduled. Prices are $4 for adults and kids over 3, with kids under 3 is free. You can also get a Family Pass up to 4 for $150. Pool parties are available at $75 for up to 20 swimmers. For additional swimmers check for pricing. If you can’t swim they offer private lessons provided by a qualified lifeguard team member, one hour $20 and 30 minutes at $10. Head Lifeguard Amaris Rice declared, “ We are open and ready for a safe, fun summer at the outdoor pool.”  Pool hours are Monday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 1 to 6 p.m. Call (865) 475-9218 for more information. Showing of to the girls, Ty Smith is practicing his back flip dive.  – STEVEN LLOYD | THE STANDARD BANNER
