Jefferson City’s Regional Planning Commission, in its function as the municipality’s Zoning Appeals Board, recently considered gray areas to the City’s code structure. In back-to-back requests, those seeking favor found it in the body’s decision making.

In the first case, the board granted a variance made on behalf of Eileen Macedo, owner of Macedo Event Center, located at 250 West Old Andrew Johnson Highway. Building Inspector and Zoning Officer Scott Zimmerman supported Macedo’s request to leave the facility’s parking lot as it has been for several years, which is blended with paved frontage and a gravel side lot.
