Lakeway Central Firefighter of the Year

Lakeway Central Volunteer Fire Fighter Lieutenant James Bean (right) was honored by fellow Lakeway Central Volunteer Fire Department members as their 2021 Firefighter of the Year Thursday. Bean became a member of the department five years ago after moving here from Maryland, where he trained and served as a firefighter. “I really enjoy working with a good group of brothers,” the honoree said. “I also enjoy helping the citizens of Jefferson County.” Handing him the plaque is Lakeway Central Volunteer Fire Chief Joe Devotie. – STEVEN LLOYD | THE STANDARD BANNER
