The Tennessee Department of Health announced plans Tuesday to make COVID vaccinations available to people age 65 and over, as well as public school teachers, beginning next Monday.

A new on-line scheduling platform is also now live for signing up to receive the shots at local health departments and other locations, Dr. Lisa Piercey, Commississioner of the Tennessee Department of Health, told reporters in a conference call this week. The site allows users to book an appointment directly when available, instead of awaiting a call back. The platform is accessible at covid19.tn.gov, but eligible persons can also call 1-866-442-5301.
