School construction projects

Besides getting renovation work started at Piedmont Elementary next month, School Board members are requesting a new cost estimate for replacing Jefferson Elementary. The request will include an alternate to add four additional classrooms, due to concerns about growth from a number of new housing developments in the area. – Dale Gentry | The Standard Banner

School Board plans to reach into fund balance after the low bid for the Piedmont Elementary renovation came in $2 million above the original estimate.
