Service Learning students clean up at Glenmore

Jefferson County High Service Learning students gathered at Glenmore Mansion on Thursday, April 1 to help clean up the grounds in preparation for Saturday’s Park Day. Glenmore Mansion volunteers guided students on how to identify weeds from new plants in the various garden areas. In exchange their work, students were invited to tour and learn the history of the house. JCHS student Fisher Overton stated, “I feel like a part of history. I enjoyed helping out.” JCHS Service Learning student Kaitlyn Mitchell carefully pulls weeds from the garden. – STEVEN LLOYD | THE STANDARD BANNER
